COFFEE MORNINGS

Wednesday Coffee Mornings in Yate

If you’re a parent or carer of a child with SEND, you don’t have to navigate the journey alone. Every Wednesday, Project Dragonfly CIC hosts relaxed and welcoming coffee mornings designed especially for you.

When and Where

Wednesdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Tesco Community Room, Yate, Term time only.

These sessions offer a calm, supportive space where you can take a breather, enjoy a hot drink, and connect with others who truly understand the ups and downs of SEND parenting.

What to Expect

  • A friendly, judgement‑free environment
  • Space to share experiences or simply listen
  • Opportunities to meet other SEND parents in the local community
  • Time for yourself — whether you want conversation, company, or just a quiet moment with a cuppa

There’s no pressure to talk, no need to book, and no expectations. Just come as you are.

Why It Matters

Parenting a child with additional needs can be rewarding, but it can also feel isolating. These coffee mornings are a chance to build connections, find encouragement, and remember that you’re part of a community that gets it.

MINDFUL MAKERS

Mindful Makers Sessions

Our Mindful Makers sessions are a welcoming space for parents, carers, and children to connect, create, and enjoy time together. Each month, we transform the Tesco Yate Community Room into a playful, imaginative environment filled with hands‑on activities designed to spark curiosity and strengthen bonds.

We know how busy life can be, so these sessions offer a gentle pause — a chance to slow down, explore, and simply enjoy being together. Our team is here to support and guide you throughout, making sure you feel comfortable, included, and inspired.

When and Where

Monthly at Tesco Yate Community Room, which is a friendly, accessible space right in the heart of the community.

What’s on offer

We provide a variety of activities that encourage creativity, sensory exploration, and shared fun, including:

  • LEGO building for imaginative construction and teamwork
  • Gloop making for sensory play and messy magic
  • Crafts to get little hands creating and expressing themselves
  • Messy play that lets children explore textures, colours, and their own ideas

Everything is designed for you and your child to enjoy side by side. Parents and carers stay throughout the session, making it a shared experience full of connection and discovery.

What we offer

  • Board Games:From quick, silly games to strategic challenges, our board game corner brings children together, helping them develop teamwork, problem‑solving skills, and plenty of laughter.
  • Crafting & Making:We love getting messy, inventive, and hands‑on. Children can create a wide range of materials—cutting, gluing, building, and designing their own masterpieces.
  • Art Play:Whether it’s painting, drawing, or experimenting with textures and colours, our art sessions give children the freedom to express themselves and explore their creativity.
  • Open‑Ended Play:We encourage imagination-led activities where children can follow their own ideas, try new things, and discover what they enjoy most.

Our approach

Dragonflies Activity Den is all about nurturing creativity, confidence, and joy. We create a safe, supportive environment where every child feels welcome, valued, and inspired to explore at their own pace.
