Our Story...

Project Dragonfly CIC was established with a clear and heartfelt purpose: to create meaningful change for individuals and communities who often find themselves overlooked, unheard, or unsupported. Our organisation was founded on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive—no matter their background, circumstances, or additional needs.

The name Dragonfly symbolises transformation, resilience, and the ability to rise above challenges. These values sit at the very core of the organisation’s work. Project Dragonfly CIC was set up to provide practical support, creative opportunities, and safe spaces where people can rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and reconnect with their sense of identity and potential.

The key part of our mission is supporting children, young people, and parents/Carers with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). Our organisation recognises the barriers that individuals with SEND often face—whether in education, community settings, or everyday life—and we are committed to offering inclusive, person‑centred programmes that honour each individual’s strengths, communication style, and unique way of experiencing the world.

Through community projects, fundraising, acquiring grants, well-being initiatives, and tailored support, Project Dragonfly CIC works to break cycles of disadvantage and empower individuals to take positive steps forward. Its founders recognised a gap in accessible, compassionate support—particularly for those navigating trauma, social isolation, SEND‑related challenges, or major life transitions—and created Project Dragonfly CIC to bridge that gap with dignity and respect.
